Actress, musician, author.

The daughter of T. H. Russell, R. A, Katherine Dampier had initially pursued a career in England as a pianist. Following her marriage to actor/dramatist Alfred Dampier in Birmingham in 1869 she began to develop her stage craft. The couple travelled to Australia in 1873 where they eventually established themselves. Katherine appeared regularly with her husband's company along with their children, Lily, Rose and Alfred Jnr.
