BiographyHistory

De L'Isle lived for a time in Australia (late 1880s), before moving to New Zealand in about 1890. He later returned to Australia and probably lived for a time in Adelaide, as he published The Adelaide Polo Club: Its History in 1913. He moved to Melbourne in about 1918.

According to his obituary in the Argus, De L'Isle 'was a member of the Australian Authors and Playwrights' Association and wrote a number of one-act plays'.
