BiographyHistory

During 2006 Gilbert Caluya was researching his PhD with the Gender Studies Department of the University of Sydney, where he has also lectured and tutored. In 2003 with the same department, he received first class honours and the University Medal for his thesis Memoirs of a Gaysha: Losing Face on the Gay Scene, which also received the 2003 Lesbian and Gay Archives Prize. He has recently co-written a chapter for The Handbook of Cultural Analysis (forthcoming) with Professor Elspeth Probyn.
