BiographyHistory

Kathy Yarran's mother was from the wheatbelt area in and around the town of Brookton and her father was from Halls Creek in the Kimberley region. Kathy was the second child of ten and grew up in the bush speaking fluent Noongar language before going to live on the reserve.

Kathy is a Noongar Elder from the wheatbelt area in Western Australia and has participated in many important Indigenous and non-Indigenous ceremonies and events over the years. She is well known for her work in teaching and supporting the Noongar language.
