BiographyHistory

Edward Hampton grew up in Alice Springs. He was instrumental in the publishing of the South Australian book Survival in Our Own Land, and had written poetry which was published by Monash University in Victoria and the University of Western Australia. Hampton had also served on the National Aboriginal Arts Council, and other organisations and committees in South Australia. In 1980, he had nominated as the Democrat Senate candidate for the Northern Territory. For twenty years was a Justice of the Peace in the Northern Territory.
