'Be warned, said the old preacher over two-thousand years ago, that of the making of many books there is no end! So why add another one to the ever growing pile? Another book of life's poetic musings? Another book of idiosyncratic word gatherings? Yes – why this book? I hope you find here a coming together of words that open for you a new awareness of wonder mediated by the simplest of everyday experiences! Some of these poetic bits signpost the poet’s association with Christianity; others will take you right back to the first inklings of human becomings. So welcome to this particular word journey! Sure, I want you to buy this book; but my deepest hope is that you will find here an ongoing dance with the wonder of just being alive!'

1 y separately published work icon Walking on Bones : Poems in the Nick of Time John Cranmer , Denham Grierson , Eugene : Wipf & Stock Publishers , 2017 15402290 2017 selected work poetry

'Walking On Bones is an echo from Ezekiel’s vision of the Valley of Dry Bones. It is exploring the idea that much of our present social experience, particularly in the Church, is akin to walking on dry bones. The poems in Walking On Bones explore how the Spirit may be discerned in ordinary things, reflecting on our own experience, and entering into the every day with open eyes. Authors John Cranmer and Denham Grierson invite us to explore the intuitive dimension of our experience alongside the rational in this poetic conversation about life and the Spirit.
