BiographyHistory

Rapper, comedy writer, and actor.

Originally a solo rapper, Briggs co-founded the hip-hop duo A.B. Original with Trials (Daniel Rankine) from the Funkoars in 2016. Their music is strongly political, with a focus on issues such as Aboriginal sovereignty and black deaths in custody: Briggs is a Yorta Yorta man and Trials is a Ngarrindjeri man. The duo also recorded the theme song for television series Cleverman. In addition to solo work and A.B. Original, Briggs has also appeared on songs with the Hilltop Hoods, the Funkoars, Drapht, and The Last Connection.

As an actor, Briggs has appeared in such shows as Black Comedy, Cleverman, The Weekly with Charlie Pickering, and Get Krack!n. He has worked as a script writer on both Black Comedy and Get Krack!n, and in 2017 was announced as part of the writing team for Simpsons' creator Matt Groening's new adult animated series, Disenchantment.

He is the recipient of two Deadly Awards: 'Best Single' (2011) and 'Hip-hop Artist of the Year' (2012). He also won 'Best New Talent' at the 2014 National Indigenous Music Awards (NIMA).
