AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Various things happen that cause interruptions, the most important of which is the return of Grubb's elder daughter, "Eileen," who has been away to college at a rich uncle's expense. Three months later the uncle arrives, and things take a melodramatic turn, but all ends happily.'

  • The play was highly recommended by President J.J. Stable of the Queensland Authors' and Artists' Association at the University of Queensland, who submitted a letter to the editor.

  • The Minister for Public Instruction recommended that as many school children should see the amateur production as possible despite the performance being in school holidays, and provided a concession price for all children who attended.
