'An internationally acclaimed poet and novelist, David Malouf is considered one of the most significant contemporary Australian writers. His works have often been analysed taking into consideration his lyrical use of language and his concern with Australian history and myths, especially in the case of his most famous novel An Imaginary Life. In my essay I would like to investigate and analyse the role of the creative word in David Malouf's fiction, focusing on his novel Fly Away Peter. (88)
