BiographyHistory

Thomas Bennelong was the son of Bennelong, was one of the first Aboriginal preachers. Named Thomas Walker Coke by Rev. Walker in 1822 who had baptised Bennelong, and later adopted him as his own son. In that same year, Bennelong married Maria Lock, within weeks of their marriage Bennelong died of a short illness in 1823. He was bured at St John's Church of England, Parramatta.
