'Kyora to Rotorua, Margaret Matthews, My Stories… is a collective of short stories about a remarkable and inspirational woman Margaret (Peg) Matthews born in 1920 who overcame ‘real life’ challenges and hardships to raise four children and during her life also recorded travel diaries of her ocean sailing adventures to Papua New Guinea in 1976 and of those she met along her way. An articulate ancestry researcher and talented travel writer, Peg’s stories can transplant the reader into the story and feel the experiences she is discovering.

'Peg’s four children learnt their own life’s lessons through her strength of character, determination and her creative abilities ‘to be able to make something out of nothing’ are all self-made entrepreneurs who have admiration for their mothers positive spirit and her courage through difficult times. A resourceful woman with a big heart who has opened her door to many including those who have ‘Walked the World.’
