BiographyHistory

Natalie Collie's research intersects with a number of disciplines: media and cultural studies; contemporary literature; creative writing; urban studies; practice-led research; communication; and future studies.

She was awarded her PhD in 2012. The practice-led research examined the relationship between cities, subjectivity, and narrative in speculative fiction.

She has published on science fiction, urban planning, and community engagement; gender, storytelling, and the production of urban space; and the role of social and mobile media in urban food projects.

Her research continues this inter-disciplinary fascination with urban space and culture, examining gothic representations of the future of cities in science fiction, film, and popular culture.
