History
Poetry Unleashed Festival is conducted by the City of Onkaparinga and the SA Writers' Centre, with the support of a number of partner organisations. The festival's aim is to raise the profile of South Australian poets, their work and poetry within the community. The festival provides entry points for people of all ages, reading and writing abilities through a range of mostly free events in traditional and non-traditional arts venues throughout the city. The Open Poetry Competition in 2010 was renamed the Adrian Kavanagh Prize in honour of the festival's first organiser. (Source: http://www.melbournebooks.com.au/awaw2011contents.html#jj )
