AbstractHistoryArchive Description
'The two principal characters in the story are Jack and Freckles, his small sister. The children wander away from their home and come to a long narrow gully, winding down into a valley. Jack suggests that they explore the valley and Freckles, though reluctant at first, accompanies him. In this valley they encounter an old man whose witchery causes many strange happenings and leads the children into a series of exciting adventures.'
