Description

Provides a detailed introduction to contemporary Aboriginal socio-economic experience across Australia from the final decades of the 20th century. Issues addressed include the extent of Aboriginal disadvantage; the experience of racism; aspects of contemporary Aboriginal cultures; child welfare, health and education issues. All issues are examined within the context of Indigenous self-determination. The unit highlights both Aboriginal disadvantage and Aboriginal achievement.
