Notes

  • Author's note: I am an Aboriginal teacher who has been working at Wallsend Public School, Newcastle, for the past eight years. I felt very passionate about educating my Year 2 class about the 2013 NAIDOC week theme, 'Yirrkala Bark Petitions'. We created this acrostic poem to commemorate our NAIDOC celebrations. We hope your readers enjoy it.
