The unit will examine a variety of genres and themes, for example, the experience of childhood as constructed by adult authors of childrens texts; post-colonial childrens literature; the emergence and development of distinctly Australian childrens texts; the development of young adult literature; the impact of new technologies on childrens literature; and role of art in childrens literature.
