This is an academic linguistic text which contains numerous traditional Aboriginal stories.

The Kattang section contains text and translations of nineteen stories about hunting, fishing, and ghosts. This work includes :

a story about a Coopalourripa initiation site;

eight lines of a Kattang corroboree song;

eight lines of the corroboree song 'Two Up Song' (idenitifed as being from Shepparton by Reay - and that includes four Bandjalang words);

fourteen lines of Bandjalang dialect.

Thangatti texts include:

conversations;

eleven stories including Dreamtime stories about snakes, humans, and ghosts;

five lines of a corroboree song;

the Story of Kempsey Fig Tree in English.

This work also includes notes on the structure of morphology, syntax and metasyntax of Kattang and Thangatti languages.
