BiographyHistory

Born in Woollahara, 1895 to Alfred Edward Bindoff (English man who had served with the Anzac Police in London) and Phoebe Alice Bindoff nee Butler (Aboriginal, Murramarang area). Prior to enlisting Edgar was a farmer on the Northern Rivers, NSW. He enlisted at Sydney on 28 January 1915 and served with the 1st Battalion. He died of his wounds during the battle of Lone Pine, in Turkey 13 September 1915. His brothers David Henry Bindoff and Harold Edward Bindoff also fought in WWI.
