BiographyHistory

Born in 1898, Sydney to Alfred Edward Bindoff (English man who had served with the Anzac Police in London) and Phoebe Alice Bindoff nee Butler (Aboriginal, Murramarang area). Prior to enlisting David was a farmer on the Northern Rivers, NSW. Private David Henry Bindoff (service no. 2249) enlisted at Paddington, Sydney on 18 July 1915 and served with the 19th Battalion (Infantry). He was killed in action on 27th July 1916 in France and is buried at Villers-Bretonneux, His name can be found on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial in France. His brothers were Harold Edward Bindoff and Edward George Bindoff also fought during WWI.
