In 1984, Crawford was the inaugural inductee into the Logie Hall of Fame.

The Hector Crawford Award (established in 1991 as part of the AWGIE Awards) is named in Crawford's honour. It is given for 'Outstanding Contribution to the Craft in the Field of Script Editing'.
