Research Projects and Collaborations

  • What AustLit Offers

AustLit welcomes approaches from scholars and others to discuss ideas that might form new Research Projects. Such research enhances AustLit by adding rich and diverse content streams to deepen scholarship in key areas.

  • AustLit Research Projects

AustLit contains a unique record of Australia's literary and storytelling history and culture, which is based on deep research and consistent contemporary collection activities in the field. It is designed to support the expansion and sharing of knowledge.

We welcome proposals from scholars, researchers, and collaborators interested in basing new research on the riches of this deep and diverse dataset or wishing to share data and information with our users.

    AustLit offers:

    • Access to a range of data for search and re-use
    • A rich collection of full text
    • A customisable home page for your project
    • A shared research space for collaborative projects
    • The chance to publish and share your data

We provide a collaborative research environment in which to house and share not only your project, but also your research outputs, such as:

    • annotated and enhanced datasets, which can be cited
    • peer-reviewed articles
    • full-text primary and secondary sources
    • biographies and bibliographies
    • mapping and visualisations

  • How we work with you

Projects are undertaken by researchers working within AustLit to create or develop new datasets specific to their interests. Datasets and accompanying scholarship can then be published and cited.

The AustLit research environment has recently been extended to provide the means for greater interactivity with and between communities of researchers, teachers, students, and the wider public. Projects can therefore include some crowd-sourcing options if suitable.

We also provide a range of data management and analysis tools and advice on their use in research. Please contact us to discuss your proposal.
