AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Allen Lane founded Penguin in the UK and his idea was to bring stories to a wide range of people inexpensively, and thus the paperback was born. Amidst the bombings of WWII, Lane thought that children needed to understand a little more about what was happening around them, so he put together four non-fiction titles specifically aimed at children, and Puffin was born!'
