Show Your Working : Favel Parrett, Favel Parrett , single work column

'My workspace is now a little pod in the back garden. There is no internet and no one can get to me from the outside world. It’s where I can be a total recluse. It started off very neat and tidy, but as this book grew, it became incredibly messy. There are even leaves on the floor and spiders in the corners.  Somewhere along the way I began to glue black and white photos of Prague on one wall and then I coloured them in with fluro pencils.' (Introduction)

Dislocated, Lisa Nan Joo , single work autobiography
'Growing up as a Korean child adopted into a white family, I was encouraged not to think about race. Only once I moved beyond my childhood, my family and my community was I free to confront the white identity my parents gave me, and reshape it into something more fluid and honest.' (Article summary)
Ten Year Challenge, Lech Blaine , single work autobiography
'A decade after graduating, a disastrous speech at my old high school forced me to confront the future I thought I’d have. At the end of 2019, a year packed with tributes to the past and commitments to the future, I am rethinking what it means to be successful.'
