History
The Australian Podcast Awards were established by Dave Gertler in 2016. First known as the Cast Away Awards in 2017, the annual awards were renamed Australian Podcast Awards in 2018.
Entries are self-nominated, and winners are selected by a judging panel. There are 20 categories in the awards, 2 of which are selected by popular vote.
