BiographyHistory

Sophie Beer is a children's book writer and illustrator based in Brisbane. She has a degree in Law and Creative Industries from Queensland University of Technology, but turned to art and illustration after graduating.

In 2016 Sophie was the winner of the 2016 SCBWI Penguin/Random House Portfolio award; and her 2019 picture book Loves Makes a Family was longlisted for the ABIA Children's Picture Book of the Year.
