Jingoes and Dingoesi"Oh, Donaldson, we thank thee for", W. T. Goodge , single work poetry (p. 9)
Note:
[At the Show banquet at.Gundagai on Wednesday night, Sir William Lyne said he agreed with the Fisher policy, and did not agree with the outburst of hysteria about presenting a Dreadnought to Great Britain. Mr. Donaldson, M.L.A., who spoke later, said he did not agree with Sir William Lyne. If loyalty to the Empire was to be called Jingoism, he was proud to be called a Jingo, and any counter-movement, could only be classed as Dingoism, as being emblematic of the dog that bit the hand that fed It! Sir William Lyne was visibly annoyed
at Mr. Donaldson's remarks.— News item.]
