Lessons 1-4 were written for AustLit by Lindsay Williams, a professional development provider and resource developer, who taught for twenty-four years in the state and independent sectors, and had seventeen years' experience as a Head of English. These resources work directly with AustLit's pre-existing online exhibition on diversity in Australian speculative fiction.

Lesson 5 was created for AustLit by Dr Kim Wilkins, award-winning Australian author of fantasy for children, young adults, and adults, as well as contemporary women's fiction under her pseudonym Kimberley Freeman. As well as a prolific author, Dr Wilkins is also a highly experienced teacher of writing in The University Of Queensland's School of Communication and Arts.
