ALEG
Weekly Report - Week 6, 9 June 2000
What I've done
- Further refinement of the data model based on feedback. We
received excellent comments from all the AUSTLIT subject experts
and Kerry Kilner this week, with more to come.
- Began documenting relationships
between the major entities
- Mini web site has been (temporarily?) moved to the "Group"
share under "AUSTLIT/ALEG/DevWWW"
What I haven't done but need to do soon!
- Start thinking about data maintenance user interface
requirements.
-
Continue thinking/discussions on visualisations of the
complex relationships - trying to come up with a browse
model which users will find intuitive and useful.
Next week
- Define the "topics" we want to record, organise them
in hierarchies and define relationships with major
entities
-
Continue discussions on and refinement of the data model.
- Probably in late (10-11?) Tuesday, maybe away Friday AM
-
Start thinking about data maintenance user interface
requirements.
Summary
-
This week's feedback has clarified lots of issues, but
some (particularly the 'taxonomy' of form) are still
open. Hopefully, next week will see the data model
and relationships pretty-much complete with all major
issues decided, and a first cut at the topic structure.
I am also planning to start producing screen
mockups for data entry for comment late in the week -
these won't be "operational" or even medium-definate,
just ideas to provoke discussion.
