ALEG
Weekly Report - Week 48, 30 March 2001
What I've done
- Implemented a work review system with email interface between reviewers and
updaters.
- Wrote the program to load the Lu Rees data in MARC Format. Unfortunately,
I haven't had time to test this program sufficiently and hence it hasn't been run
to load data.
- More system doco.
- We had a lot of network problems during the week which caused
problems with response time. The loan-machine was moved to a new subnet
and given a new address. Performance seems better (for people inside
the ADFA library), but won't improve for others until the link
between the library and the rest of the world is upgraded.
- Lots of minor changes to the output formatting
What hasn't done but needs to be done soon!
- Add general edits based on XSLT Schema (the Schematron approach).
- Revisit output formatting (especially to show all the newly
added attributes and relationships) and search screens.
- Drama data - work out what we need to store to record a "performance"
- AMLC bib data load
- Lu Rees Bib load (MARC format)
- WA writers data load
- Improve error message contents and formatting
- Load Lu Rees bib data
- Discuss the approach we'll take to the Lu Rees non bibliographic data
- Enhance expression/manifestation selection search
- Remove the test works and agents added during training
Next week
- ! There is no next week ! Well, there is, but noone will be working on
the technical side of ALEG because this was my last week. The tender for
stage 2 is being advertised this weekend, and my company will submit a
response.
Summary
- I've enjoyed this project enormously. I've never worked on a project
where the management and team have been so committed to their
work and the success of the project. I hope to be invited back, but regardless,
the project is assured success based on the abilities of all those involved.
