AustLit
Weekly Report - Week 47, 5 April 2002
What I've done
- Only was at work for 2 days this week...
- Implemented new attribute, stylesheet changes and "relay" program
to access the AustLit full texts stored as part of the Sydney Uni SETIS
program. The basic facility is now working, with a few outstanding issues:
authentication on the ADFA proxy is currently required, which the program
does with a hardcoded userid/password (very undesirable, but hopefully
will be fixed in cooperation with AFDA IT Services next week); links to
PDF files need to be changed (Creagh Cole and I).
- Investigation of a few subscriber access problems which seem to be
related to EZProxy configuration/use at subscriber sites.
- Another new agent attribute "Departed Australia" - a date.
- Change agent display so that "Reviews of works" is now replaced
by "Criticism/Reviews". This link shows all works "about" all works
of an agent, whether "reviews" or "subject-works".
- A few minor changes to stylesheets and other formatting following maintainer and
user feedback (Show BRN to subscribers;suppress book icon when expression-form is painting;
stats for Kerry;changed periodical issues to newspaper issues where the work
was an "issue of" a newspaper;new canned "F2" work level notes)
- The system was stable. The power will be turned off at the ADFA library
for a few hours sometime in April. The current best guess time is still between
11am and 1pm on Saturday 13th April. When I'm given a definate time, I'll alert
users (maintainers and subscribers) to the extent of AustLit unavailability.
Next Week
- Continue design/implementation of relationship scopes. The first
use for this facility will be year-scoping of award-as-subject
relationships.
- Continue work on the functions linking to the SETIS full text.
Next few weeks
- Move awards to be event-based rather than work-based.
- Refining NBD Holdings searches.
- Review all subset definitions for efficacy.
- Import/export in MARC and DC formats.
- SDI facility.
- Combining searches
