ALEG
Weekly Report - Week 12, 20 July 2001
What I've done
- Worked through Marie-Louise's web-site plan with her and Annette.
Produced a prototype web site based on some simple XML, stylesheets
and servlet based processing rules, modified the web-server to
support this servlet as the "default" entry point to Austlit,
built a simple NoteTab "clip" library
to populate documents then talked to Marie-Louise and Megan about
a DTD. Megan produced the DTD and this has now been incorporated
into the prototype web site.
The purpose of the prototype site is merely to provide a framework
for the "static" information documents we will be creating over the
next week or so, and to demonstrate to the graphic designer what
we are trying to achieve.
The graphic designer will be chosen next week.
- More reports and one-off updates to assist the cleanup effort.
- Added a "clone expression" function.
Next Week
- To Do list. Work through the (mostly) minor issues on the to-do
list provided by Annette/Kerry/Marie-Louise.
- Help generating the prototype static web documents.
- The final version of new thesaurus should arrive early next week
(I thought we already had it - maybe we were awaiting the mappings from
old to new) - start processing it and converting
current subject terms.
Next few weeks
- First known dates.
- Pick up the ball I dropped regarding the Z39.50 interface to NLA
holdings.
