South Australian Women Writers
About
  • About

South Australian Women Writers, includes biographical and bibliographical information on South Australian women writers associated with South Australia by birth, residence or visits to the state. The data covers writers from the earliest days of the colony to the present time. While South Australian Women Writers concentrates on creative and critical literature, some biographical and autobiographical works are included.

The South Australian Women Writers dataset contains thousands of records migrated from the original Bibliography of South Australian Women Writers. Many other records about South Australian women writers and their writing have been created by AustLit contributors in the course of recording information about Australian literary history. All AustLit contributors continue to provide information about this segment of Australian literary culture, with Flinders University taking primary responsibility for the continued development of resources in this area.

The foundation Bibliography of South Australian Women Writers was compiled by Anne Chittleborough, Rick Hosking and Graham Tulloch of Flinders University between 1995 and 1999. This work was published electronically in 1999 by the State Library of South Australia and incorporated into AustLit in 2000.
