The Australian Literature Resource
The Australian Children's Literature subset originated in the specialist information collections of the Lu Rees Archives, which is supported by the University of Canberra and the Children's Book Council of Australia.
The Lu Rees Archives at the University of Canberra initially took the principal responsibility for recording Australian children's literature, under the direction of Professor Belle Alderman.
Since mid 2006, Deakin University Library and the School of Communication and Creative Arts have generously contributed to the further development of the AustLit Children's Literature subset leading to the revision and updating of the subset.
In 2008, Queensland University of Technology joined the AustLit consortium. Together with Deakin University, they have initiated the Children's Literature Digital Resources Project (CLDRP) to investigate and establish an appropriate digitisation program which will deliver a range of primary and secondary texts to the Australian literature teaching and research communities.
