A humorous poem about a riot involving Australian troops which took place in the Cairo brothel precinct in 1915. Dennis intended to include this poem in The Moods of Ginger Mick, however it was removed at the insistence of the censor. The poem subsequently appeared in the Bulletin in July 1918, at the time of a Senate inquiry.

Epigraph (accompanying the July 1918 Bulletin version): Brigadier-General Anderson, giving evidence before a Select Committee of the Federal Senate last week said: 'A leading citizen of the Empire told me when I was in London that it would have been better if we had let the Waza in Cairo burn, for we would have done more good in 24 hours than the British Government had done in 24 years.'
