AbstractHistoryArchive Description

This poem deals with a volatile period in Victoria's colonial political history. Two prominent (and divisive) members of the Legislative Council at the time were Willian Clark Haines and Hugh Culling Eardley Childers. The poem particularly references the activities of these two men.
