'Haunted by person who died three quarters in arrears in payments for papers.' (Webby)

Notes

  • This work initially appeared in the Moreton Bay Courier on 1 January, 1848, with the author's name not indicated. However, in a note which accompanied the poem 'Old Times in Brisbane' , which appeared in the Moreton Bay Courier, 30 September, 1848, 'Nemo' stated that the work was theirs. Notably, the work also appeared in the Perth Gazette, on 20 May, 1848, where it was attributed to the English writer and journalist Douglas Jerrold (1803-1857). Whilst it appears likely that the work was written by Jerrold, further research is required to settle the matter.
