  • Walch more than likely adapted his version (also referred to as Conrad and Medora) from William Brough's burlesque pantomime Conrad and Medora, Or, Harlequin Little Fairy at the Bottom of the Sea (1856), itself based on Lord Byron's 1814 poem, The Corsair.
