Revue.

A typical revue, comprising songs, skits, and dances focusing on current issues. Several of the items also focused on aspects relating to songwriting and the music industry (including publishing).

The seventeen items and performers presented were:

  • 7. 'Mr and Mrs Revue' (Dorothy and Peter)
  • 8. 'Please Mr Publisher' (Barry)
  • 9. 'Teenager's Views on Song-writing' (Dorothy)
  • 10. 'I Want to Hear that Music' (Joan)
  • 11. 'Advice' (Barry and Peter)
  • 12. 'It's Apples with Chappell's' (Barry and Peter)
  • 13. 'Perdu L' Amour' (Joan)
  • 14. 'Birds' (Barry)
  • 15. 'Seventeen-0-Two' (Dorothy and Barry)
  • 16. 'How to Write a Song' (Dorothy)
  • 17. 'Keep on Trying' (Barry and Peter).

Production Details

  • 1959: February, Bread and Cheese Club Songwriters' and Composers' Group, Melbourne.

    • Cast incl. Dorothy Barnham, Barry Prendergast, Peter Pinne.
    • A fourth member of the group was Joan (surname unknown).
