Description of the Sunrise, published in the AWM issue 2 February, 1926:
'Out of the many serials offered, Mr Yarra's has been selected on its sheer merit.
A trained journalist, who knows and writes of Australia as few others do, Mr Yarra has already won a reputation which is envied by many more-advertised writers. His Mirror short stories have won him a host of friends and "Sunrise" will win him many more.
Most realistic is his story of the capture of the Queen of the Brumbies in the west of Queensland, and her subsequent training for the big race meeting in Brisbane, and the climax at the finish of the race is as dramatic and unexpected as the end of the serial itself.
A story of city and bush, full of real people and dramatic situations, "Sunrise" will be followed by the Mirror's hundreds of thousands of readers with intense interest.
Percy Lindsay, who will illustrate the serial, needs no introduction, and he has spared no pains in making his illustrations worthy of the story.'
