Mónica Gómez has written from an early age. She collaborated in writing short stories published in Chilean magazines. In Australia, Gomez was a participant in the Bilingual Community Writing Workshops co-ordinated by the Fairfield Community Arts Network, as well as the author of the column 'Diario de un emigrante' which appeared in the magazine Nosotras.
