BiographyHistory

'A Thousand Words is an Australian literature festival that celebrates children's stories, brings books out of the classroom and helps to develop a wide-reaching network for readers and writers.

'We believe in the social act of reading and the power of books to bring us together. Founded in 2009 by Bec Kavanagh, A Thousand Words festival creates a vibrant forum not only where stories are told and books take centre stage, but also where other art forms help bring stories to life and, above all, where there is ongoing and lively discussion between book lovers of all ages. '
