BiographyHistory

Esther a Senior Spinifex woman, was born in the Baltju country, and travelled as a young girl, and had a family. She related her first encounter with Europeans, and her first experience of seeing the Indian-Pacific Express train and patrol jeeps. She had related her stories to anthropologist Scott Cane.

Esther is also an artist, who contributes her paintings to The Spinifex Arts Project, which was established in 1997 as part of the Native Title documentation process. (source: Cooee Aboriginal Art Gallery website on www.cooeeart.com.au and Pila Nguru: The Spinifex People)
