BiographyHistory

'The Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) is a centre for tertiary education for the Australian Defence Force. It is located in Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory. Within the Academy, The University of New South Wales (UNSW) has established a college, known as UNSW@ADFA (formally University College), which is responsible for conducting courses of study and research.'

In accordance with the agreement between the Commonwealth Government and the UNSW, 'the Interim Academy Council was set up in 1982 to oversee the development of the Academy in co-operation with UNSW, which developed the University College. The Academy Council was established in late 1985. The Australian Defence Force Academy opened in January, 1986.'
