A truncated and unformatted biographical extract follows:Daryl John is descended from the convict William Coventry, who was sent to Australia in 1813. Growing up in Melbourne, his parents divorced when John was seven. This event plunged the family into hardship and John left school at the age of 14 to become a telegram boy. John has held numerous jobs all over Australia, including rouseabout, hospital orderly, union representative and miner. He began writing, playing guitar and singing when he was 18. John has written essays, poems and short stories.....
