BiographyHistory

Samuel Lazar was a theatre manager and dramatist. He produced several Christmas pantomimes in the 1870s, notably those by Garnet Walch and John Strachan. Publications of Walch's and Strachan's work refer to the original productions as 'under management and direction of Mr Samuel Lazar'. A libretto, The Beast, undated and unpublished, has been bound and kept by the Mitchell Library in Sydney.

Samuel was the son of actor/manager John Lazar.
