Lancelot Booth was a minor actor and playwright. During the early 1870s he worked on the stage in New Zealand, marrying actress Eliza Frances Eltham at Dunedin in 1873. By the later 1870s he had moved to Australia, where he initially worked on the Sydney stage. During the early to mid 1880s, he lived in Brisbane, where he was connected with the Brisbane Theatre Royal. Booth then returned to Sydney, where he appears to have lived until his death in May 1913.
