BiographyHistory

Sea Cruise Books is a small press established in 1976 by Ken Bolton and Anna Couani as part of the Absolutely Furious Productions that included Magic Sam magazine founded by Ken Bolton. The name Sea Cruise comes from a line in a Huey Louis song. Like Magic Sam, its first publications were made on a shoe string using roneo and silk screen processes and initially promoted poetry and experimental writing, going on to focus on women writers after 1980, when Sea Cruise was operated solely by Anna Couani. Authors published: include John Forbes, Denis Gallagher, Ken Bolton, Kerry Leves, Kris Hemensley, Robert Kenny, Joanne Burns, Barbara Brooks, Anna Couani, Moya Costello, Carmel Kelly and Pamela Brown. Sea Cruise also published the Island in the Sun prose anthologies and later published The Harbour Breathes jointly with Masterthief.
