She won a scholarship from Sydney to the Royal Ballet School in London in 1959, and after studying she joined the Australian Ballet Company. In 1965 she married the British Shakespearian actor Paul Daneman, and from then lived permanently in England. She left dancing and took up modelling when she had her first daughter at the age of 23.
