A truncated and unformatted biographical extract follows: Graham Rowlands was educated at the University of Queensland, completing an MA thesis on Oscar Wilde in 1972. While in Queensland, he was editor of the student magazine Makar (1966-67) and published Stares and Statues (1972), his first book of poetry and the first volume of the Gargoyle Poets series. Rowlands moved to Adelaide in the early 1970s and was associated with the Friendly Street group of poets, editing No 9 Friendly Street Poetry Reader (1985).
